North Dakota Bird Taxidermy- Rough Rider Bird Taxidermy

About the Artist Rick Acker

Thank you very much for spending some time with Roughrider Gamebirds Wildlife Studio. I hope you enjoyed my work.

I have been hunting birds in my home state of North Dakota for over 25 years. For me, birds are not just a hobby, but a passion. I am fortunate enough to have some of the finest bird hunting in the world right in my own back yard. Chances are, if you’re a serious bird hunter, you.’ve visited the roughrider state.

I started dabbling in bird taxidermy at an early age. My poor mother was afraid to look in her own freezer because of what "dead thing" she might find next! Now that I’m a little older, I’ve decided to put my extensive knowledge and love of birds to use.

Taxidermy helps me relive those special autumn days in the field with family and friends. My goal is to help preserve a special memory for you with roughridergamebirds.com.  A special thanks to Jim Benson who took the time to help me develope into the bird taxidermist that I am today!

My Greatest Creation Yet!

      Hunter Richard Acker

Today I live in Grand Forks, North Dakota with my wife Mindi, my pride and joy "Hunter" who's my baby son, and our two bird hunters... Lady and Abby. I sincerely hope that I get the opportunity to create a special piece for you.
